EMDR Consultation

EMDR consultation focuses on the supporting the EMDR trained therapist in integrating the EMDR standard protocol into their practice.  Through this process a consultee fine tunes their skills, gains support, confidence, and grows professionally within the EMDR model.  It is important to understand that EMDR consultation is not supervision.  As a consultant in training, I have aligned my work with consultants who have high standards for integrity and fidelity in the EMDR model.  As part of the consultation in training process, I meet with my consultant for group and individual consultation on a regularly scheduled basis.  Additionally, I am expected  to stay up to date on the current research related to EMDR and implementing the standard EMDR therapy protocol.  EMDR certification identifies a therapist as an advanced practitioner and speaks to the therapist’s commitment, level of qualifications, and expertise.

Taking the leap to add EMDR into your practice can be overwhelming.  There is a lot to learn in a short amount of time.  The journey to certification is highly individualized.  I was trained in 2019 and became a Certified EMDR therapist in 2022.  Prior to the pandemic, I practiced EMDR in my brick and mortar office.  I then shifted once the pandemic began and moved online.  For a moment, I too paused consultation, as I attempted to navigate the pandemic and figure out how to make my new “normal” work for myself, my family, and my clients.  I remember the relief of getting back into the process of consultation.  Being mentored and supported by a consultant, took my skills beyond the classroom.  Consultation has allows me to feel grounded to the EMDR model.

Currently, I specialize in supporting individuals working through trauma, attachment wounds, dissociation, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.  I have specialized my practice to support women throughout various seasons.  Ego State (Parts work), RTEP, and GTEP are part of my advanced trainings.  Currently my practice remains exclusively online.

I look forward to the opportunity to mentor and collaborate as you add EMDR to your practice.  As an EMDR Consultant in Training I can provide 10 Hours of group consultation and 5 hours of individual consultation towards EMDRIA certification. As a Consultant in Training, I have aligned my practice and mentorship with The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy.   This offers me the opportunity to have my skills, as a consultant, assessed for proficiency and fidelity.   As a consultee, a EMDR trained therapist can expect that they will receive a clear path on how their skills and domains of knowledge with be evaluated and developed.   You will be provided with tools and resources beyond the Basic Training in the classroom.
